The short version
This website uses cookies for two things: counting visitors and showing adverts. The app itself uses no cookies at all — it uses browser storage to keep your budget on your device, and that storage is never transmitted anywhere.
What a cookie is
A small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. Some are set by us, most by the services we use.

What the app stores, which is not a cookie
The Under the Mark app keeps your budget in browser local storage. This is technically different from a cookie: it is never sent to any server, is not readable by other websites, and is not used for tracking. It exists so your figures are still there when you come back.
The Chrome extension similarly stores queued purchases on your device using extension storage. Nothing is transmitted.
Your choices
- The banner. Choosing "Essential only" means adverts are served without personalisation. You will still see adverts, because they pay for the site, but they will not be based on a profile of you.
- Google's own controls. Manage advert personalisation across all sites at adssettings.google.com.
- Your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking them will not break the app, because the app does not use them.
- Opting out of Analytics is possible with Google's opt-out add-on.
Third-party information
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts based on your visits to this and other sites. More detail is in Google's advertising policies.
Changes
If we add or remove a service that sets cookies, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
